Owing to the way things developed around Naħla, they can be seen as remains from the original work, and have been presented as such, even if they were never physically attached to the original outdoor installation.
These wings were eventually re-exhibited as X’Fadal (minn Naħla) during Spazju Kreattiv’s 2019 Art+Feminism exhibition, which featured all the works by women artists in their permanent collection. As displayed, the work provided a striking visual image both for anyone who was familiar with the ill-fated Naħla as well as others who had not seen the large 2017 installation on the side of St James Cavalier during the previous summer.
As with Naħla, the shadows cast by the plexiglass objects is an essential part of the work. The interplay with light and the various pieces that make up this large object, make this an even more spectral experience than was possibly ever intended for the original work from which it stems.
